Big 12 announces football 1st and 2nd teams

Quick and dirty, and in all its glory, scan this year's list and see if your favorite teams and players were represented well on the Big 12 Conference's postseason awards list.  But, before you do, I want you to remember how we questioned whether the preseason hype for guys like Bryce Brown and Roy Finch, both of whom were selected as the preseason picks for top running backs.

As far as K-State went, seven players made the top two teams, with a couple of notable others making honorable mention. I would question David Garrett not making at least second team, but other than that, pretty cut and dried list, I think (except for the inordinate amount of Texas A&M honorable mentions. Really? For a .500 team? TAMU, thy name is underachieving...)

K-State touchdowns breakdown by class

This idea came from a tweet about the LSU football team's touchdown production this year, specifically the number of touchdowns scored by each class. @Turnksu asked me what the K-State breakdown is, and I thought it would be fun to find that answer.

So, here we go, and while it isn't nearly the insane amount of TDs scored by LSU's youth (of 65 TDs in 2011, 8 have been by seniors, 42 by underclassmen), if you're into that "returning players means something" camp, you're going to like how it shapes up for the Wildcats heading into next year.

And, yes, a lot of that positive vibe rests on the shoulders of a certain No. 7.
