MIAA should donate game monies to Joplin

Nearly two weeks after Joplin, Mo., was leveled by a tornado, the latest collective best news was received on Wednesday: the last of the missing people have been found.

Now, even as monetary and physical relief efforts have poured into the area since the beginning, the true rebuild can begin.  It means the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association can now jump in and help, too.

I don't talk a lot of NBA over here - hardly at all, actually, unless it affects one of the former local college kids - but if you're interested in LeBron, Wade and Bosh v. Dirk, I'm covering the Heat / Mavericks series over at sportingego.com.

Game 1 was quite good until the Heat took over the fourth quarter, but I suspect the veteran Mavs will be able to shore up their rebounding woes and make this the tight series most expect.  For the record, I said Dallas in seven...for no other good reason than I'm still bitter about the Heat's ridiculous Big 3 introduction ceremony.
